The St. Charles Borromeo Academy Student Council, under guidance of faculty moderators, assist the principal and faculty with any school-wide projects and activities around the school, and give support in our local community. Comprised of our middle school students, Student Council works to build a strong school atmosphere through their many student-led activities and fundraisers campus.
Taught by our fabulous art teacher, Mrs. Barron, TK – 8th grade students draw, paint, and sculpt to explore elements of design, color theory, perspective, abstraction, and more. Moreover, students learn to express themselves, and discover and explore their own unique creativity!
With Coach Stehly, TK – 8th grade students establish a basic understanding of health and fitness. Students focus on health-related fitness and learn how to become more fit and healthy.
Through singing, playing, listening and reading, TK – 4th grade students experience the various elements of music, and are introduced to various styles and kinds of music.
* Spanish is not currently being offered. We hope to bring Spanish classes back on campus soon!
After School Enrichment
The Saint Charles Borromeo Athletics Program offers a variety of opportunities for boys and girls from K – 8, including football, soccer, volleyball, track, and basketball. The SCBA “Warriors” participate in the Catholic Sports League of San Diego and compete with parochial schools from all over San Diego.

SCBA partners with experienced coaches who have a love for children and a passion for using the game of chess to develop their minds, their hearts, and to reach out and connect with others. Life skills of Critical Thinking, Mental Discipline, Decision Making, Self Confidence, Sportsmanship, and Leadership. cultivated as students learn to play this classic game.
Accomplished musician Marcus Barron continues his very popular after-school guitar instruction. Sessions are open to all levels, acoustic or electric guitars welcome. Students must provide their own instrument and accouterments.
The ever popular Marcus Barron, adds to his after-school music program by offering ukulele classes. Sessions are open to all levels, and all types of ukuleles are welcome. Students must provide their own instrument and accouterments.
In cooperation with TGA and The Loma Club, SCBA makes it convenient and affordable to learn and play golf in a safe and fun environment. Kid-friendly instructors help students develop golf skills and knowledge while using the sport to teach valuable life lessons, like honesty and sportsmanship.
The Extended Care staff provides a safe and loving environment for the kids, with snacks and activities such as outdoor play, crafts, and games. We also offer homework time, depending on the needs of each individual student.
